miss my super powers. Well it’s not like I lost them in a freak
lightening storm or anything. No. Just leaving my position at [insert
video game store name here] dis-endowed them. What were these powers?
The power to tell someone to buy a video game no matter how crappy and
have them listen. It was quite amazing to see people actually believe
me when I said “[X] is an amazing play”.
Maybe I wasn’t actually a hero of gaming…
I was a villain… NOOOOOO!!!!! Sorry what were we talking about?
Oh yes my point. Take it from me. Don’t trust someone trying to
sell you something especially when they say “I’m not on commission”
Why you ask? Doesn’t commission make you an evil soulless sales
monster. Well yes, but actual motivation of someone - wanting to be good
at their job and reach their sales goals for the pure internal motivation
of feeling like you’ve accomplished something is much scarier. You
have been warned. Trust your friends, trust your own experiences, even
trust critics. But don’t trust me… I mean, sales people.
Other stuff. My parents were in a car accident today
– everyone is okay – please thank whoever or whatever you
believe in for me. I think I owe them.
